About Dan Ilett

Hello and thanks for stopping by…

I am CEO, founder and chief analyst at Greenbang.com

Our products include industry influencer analytics and reports on CSR (CleanAnalysis), monthly subscription reports on smart grid (Greenbang SmartGrid) and regular events (Greenbang Forums).
Our research panels are made up of some of the world’s foremost thinkers in energy, technology and sustainability. Greenbang.TV is a part of our business that interviews of these people.
Our customers include blue-chip companies, hedge funds, investors and media firms. This year we have worked with IBM, Cisco, Kyocera and the University of Bath, among others.
I am chairman of the Low Carbon Symposium, which is run in conjunction with the University of Bath and its innovation centre. I also participate in several investment gatherings.
Greenbang was founded in 2007. Before that I was a journalist, for many years writing for the Financial Times. I also wrote for the Economist Group, the Daily Telegraph and a number of technology trade magazines – silicon.com, zdnet, SC Magazine.
I also run advanced media training courses for C-level execs, who wish to enhance their communicative skills. As publishing advisor to the Mobile Industry Review, I keep a close eye on mobile technology, which I argue holds the most important innovations for a sustainable future.

I started my working life as a Cisco network engineer, but moved into journalism after feeding the travel bug. I have a post-graduate diploma in journalism and a degree from Sheffield University in Japanese Studies. I enjoy diving, running and eating good food.
